About the Role

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to manage the end-to-end payroll cycle for our client in Lithuania. In this role, you will ensure payroll accuracy, compliance with local legislation, and timely statutory reporting while working hands-on with payroll systems like SAP and Vikarina, and supporting employees and stakeholders with payroll-related matters.

 

Your Responsibilities

  • Execute the full monthly payroll cycle for employees in Lithuania with a high level of accuracy and timeliness.
  • Process payroll adjustments, bonuses, benefits, deductions, corrections, health insurance and payment-related activities.
  • Manage daily employee lifecycle changes including new hires, terminations, salary updates, absences, leave and organisational changes in the system.
  • Support employee hiring and termination processes in the payroll systems.
  • Maintain accurate employment and payroll data in SAP and Vikarina.
  • Respond to employee payroll-related questions in a professional and service-oriented manner.
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual payroll reports and statutory declarations.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and payments to Sodra and VMI.
  • Support payroll compliance, documentation and internal or external audit activities.

 

Your Experience and Skills

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of payroll accounting experience, ideally in an international or shared services environment.
  • Strong practical knowledge of Lithuanian payroll legislation, tax and social security requirements.
  • Solid experience with Vikarina and confidence in day-to-day system use.
  • Good knowledge of payroll closing activities and statutory reporting processes.
  • Fluency in Lithuanian and working proficiency in English languages.
  • Strong attention to detail and a structured way of working.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability and a client service mindset.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

 

Seen as an Advantage

  • Experience working with SAP payroll.
  • Latvian language skills.
  • Background from an international payroll, outsourcing or shared services environment.
