Job Title:  Senior Accounting Specialist

Role Summary

As a Senior Accounting Specialist at Zalaris, your mission is to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll accounting and reporting for our valued customers. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality services, supporting continuous improvement, and mentoring team members. Your Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll accounting processes, including pre-payroll data uploads, reimbursements, and third-party payments (e.g., labor unions, garnishments, taxation) 
• Prepare and deliver accurate payroll reports and year-end reporting on behalf of customers, ensuring compliance and timeliness 
• Ensure service delivery meets SLA standards, prioritizing tasks effectively and maintaining high-quality support for assigned customers 
• Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance in payroll processes for your customer portfolio 
• Take ownership of complex, cross-functional issues, coordinating with relevant teams to ensure timely and effective resolution 
• Train, support, and guide team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to strengthen team capabilities 
• Contribute to continuous improvement by performing additional tasks related to the role and proactively identifying opportunities to enhance service delivery 

Your Experience and Skills

• Proven experience in payroll accounting, third-party payments and reporting 
• Hands-on involvement in pre-payroll processes and customer-facing service delivery 
• Experience managing year-end reporting and ensuring compliance with internal controls 
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex data accurately 
• Excellent problem-solving and case management capabilities 
• Effective communication skills with a customer-centric mindset 
• Ability to train and mentor colleagues and contribute to team development 
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment 
• Good knowledge of Norwegian regulations within payroll and accounting reporting 

Nice to have: 

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license 
• 5-10 years of experience
